Desired Qualifications:
- Current state and education licensure specific to Assistive Technology
- Direct experience or certification as an Assistive Technology Specialist
- Skilled in evaluating student needs for AT and AAC devices and software
- Background in functional assessments, due process management, and IEP development
- Experience collaborating productively with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and educators
- Familiarity with curriculum modifications and classroom accessibility strategies
- Strong communication and consultative skills adaptable to a K-12 setting
- Ability to manage and monitor student progress using data-driven methods
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations and provide expert recommendations for assistive and augmentative communication technologies
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Offer ongoing consultations, training, and technical support regarding classroom accessibility and curriculum adaptations
- Ensure compliance with due process protocols, completing functional evaluations and maintaining detailed records
