Job Description
A rewarding contract opportunity is available for dedicated Special Education Teachers passionate about supporting diverse learners. This full-time role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within a supportive educational setting, providing individualized instruction and support to students with special needs.
Three distinct positions are open—please specify your preferred placement when applying:
- Anderson High School: Life Skills Program, 7:20 AM–2:30 PM, serving approximately 10 students.
- Southview Preschool: Inclusion Classroom, 8:30 AM–3:30 PM, two positions available, each working with approximately 10 students.
Assignment spans the full academic year, from August 3, 2026, through June 7, 2027. Consistent onsite presence is required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current and active Indiana Teaching License in Special Education (screen shot of licensure must be included with application)
- Experience teaching in Life Skills or Inclusion settings preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for fostering inclusive, supportive classroom environments
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students' strengths and areas for growth
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, therapists, and families
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Foster an environment that encourages growth, independence, and positive social interaction
