An opportunity awaits for a skilled General Education Health Teacher eager to inspire and educate in an on-site role at a vibrant school community located near Chicago, IL. The upcoming school year calls for a dedicated professional to join the staff from August 17, 2026, through May 21, 2027. This contract position consists of 33.75 hours per week, offering the chance to shape a safe and enriching learning environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Illinois teaching license with Professional Educator License (PEL) endorsement required
  • Prior experience teaching general education in a school setting, ideally with a health focus
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate junior high students
  • Commitment to on-site instruction; virtual options are not available for this role

Role Responsibilities:

  • Instruct and engage junior high students in health education curriculum
  • Develop lesson plans and deliver dynamic, age-appropriate content
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom atmosphere
  • Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide feedback to students and families
  • Collaborate with colleagues and staff to promote student well-being
  • Participate in school events, professional development, and departmental meetings
