Job Description
Inspire young minds and ignite a passion for science as a full-time 6th Grade Science Teacher in a vibrant middle school setting near Waukegan, IL. This contract position runs from August 17th through May 27th, 2027, giving the right educator a rewarding opportunity to guide students through hands-on discovery and foundational skill-building in the sciences. As a key part of the academic team, you’ll play a crucial role shaping students' attitudes, confidence, and curiosity during a pivotal year of academic growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate science/teaching endorsement(s)
- Experience with curriculum design, lesson planning, and classroom instruction
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Commitment to onsite teaching; remote options are not available for this role
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective science instruction tailored to the 6th grade level
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum
