Pharmacist - Comfort, Texas

Seeking a Pharmacist with strong clinical expertise to support a 120-bed community hospital in Kerrville, TX. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply and further develop your skills in a hospital setting with a focus on decentralized ICU experience. The position is contract-based, starting as soon as possible, and expected to last 13 weeks or more.

Location: Kerrville, TX (Comfort area)

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday day shifts
• Shift start times vary: 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, or 9:00 AM
• Coverage required every 4th weekend
• Potential future shift change to second shift (11:45 AM – 10:15 PM, 10-hour shifts)
• Flexibility in scheduling is highly desirable

Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical pharmacy services in a hospital environment, with emphasis on critical care and ICU experience
• Participate in medication order verification and ensure appropriate drug therapy
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
• Utilize hospital IT systems including Meditech, MedKeeper for IV management, and Omnicell automation
• Assist in medication inventory management and compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols

Qualifications:

• Valid Texas pharmacist license
• Previous hospital pharmacy experience required
• Demonstrated ability to work in decentralized pharmacy settings, particularly ICU environments
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Comfortable adapting to varying shift schedules
