Job Description
Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to support a high school student with 1:1 services for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, in-person contract opportunity allows you to make a significant difference in the educational experience of a student near Sequim, WA.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification
- Minimum 4.0 EIPA score with successful completion of the written exam
- Demonstrated skill in American Sign Language (ASL) within school settings
- Experience working 1:1 with students, preferably at the high school level
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Dependable and professional, able to work consistently from 9/3/26 to 6/15/27
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, in-person sign language interpretation for a high school student throughout the school day
- Support clear communication between the student, peers, and faculty
- Adapt interpreting style to fit varied academic classes and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate regularly with teachers and staff to ensure the student’s needs are met
- Help foster an inclusive environment and promote student engagement
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with ethical standards in educational interpreting
