Step into a dynamic school-based occupational therapy position working with elementary-aged learners in an intermediate setting (grades 3-5). This contract opportunity requires a skilled OT who is passionate about supporting young students' growth in both fine motor and sensory domains throughout the academic year. You’ll play a pivotal role in helping students succeed in their educational environment, working closely with a manageable caseload primarily focused on consultative support, with some hands-on intervention.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in Illinois
  • Prior experience or strong interest in school-based settings, particularly elementary-aged children
  • Proficiency in delivering both consult and direct OT services within academic environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to independently organize scheduling and documentation for caseload management

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation services for teachers and staff regarding accommodations, classroom modifications, and strategies for student success
  • Deliver direct OT interventions targeting fine motor and sensory regulation needs
  • Observe, assess, and develop individualized plans for students (approximately 25 on caseload) within one school building
  • Maintain accurate records and progress notes as required by school policies
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and caregivers to promote optimal student outcomes
  • Attend relevant school meetings as needed and serve as a valued resource to your colleagues

Details:

  • Contract runs from September 8th, 2026 to June 16th, 2027
  • Hours are 8:05 am to 2:45 pm, 2 to 3 days per week (option for 2 full days, or more days with shorter shifts)
