Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An inpatient pharmacist position is available for a 13-week contract beginning April 20th at a medical center in Norfolk, VA. This role offers the flexibility to work either evening or overnight shifts, depending on your preference:

  • Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • Overnight Shift: 8:30 PM – 7:30 AM Monday through Thursday and 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM Friday through Sunday (working 7 nights on followed by 7 nights off)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and process medication orders accurately within an inpatient hospital setting
  • Manage intravenous (IV) medications, pain-controlled analgesia, and antibiotic therapies
  • Monitor drug interactions and ensure safe medication use
  • Participate in chemo medication handling, anticoagulant management, pharmacokinetic and renal dosing as preferred
  • Utilize EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system for clinical documentation and order entry

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current Virginia Pharmacist License (must be in hand at time of application)
  • Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required; prior travel pharmacy experience is a plus
  • Proven expertise with IV medications, pain control, antibiotics, and medication verification
  • Experience with EPIC EMR system is mandatory
  • Preferred experience includes chemotherapy handling, anticoagulants, and pharmacokinetic/renal dosing
