Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to provide vital support in the operating room. This position is ideal for a nursing professional looking to expand their skills in a dynamic surgical environment and contribute high-quality patient care alongside a collaborative surgical team.
Schedule:
- 10-hour mid shift, 6:30 am – 5:00 pm
- Call coverage until 11:00 pm at least one weekday each week
- At least one continuous weekend (Friday-Monday, 6:30 am) per six-week period
- 18-week assignment
Qualifications:
- Current, active RN license
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher, with evidence of RNFA certification
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the operating room with first-assist responsibilities
- ACLS and BLS certifications (current and valid)
- Strong knowledge of surgical aseptic techniques, procedures, and instrumentation
- Effective collaboration and communication skills within multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated critical thinking, flexibility, and ability to handle high-pressure situations
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct surgical assistance to physicians during operative procedures
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control and quality assurance protocols
- Anticipate surgeon and procedure needs, managing equipment and supplies
- Coordinate with the surgical team to maintain efficient workflow and patient throughput
- Participate in preoperative planning, intraoperative intervention, and postoperative patient care
- Accurately document procedures, assessments, and patient status in the medical record

$3,999 - $4,216/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
