Step into a pivotal role as a substitute paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. Working per diem in a dynamic educational environment, you’ll provide essential classroom and student support during contractor call outs, ensuring continuity for students and educators. This is a fully onsite position, with 6.5-hour shifts, designed for flexible, dedicated professionals eager to make an impact.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of college credits from an accredited institution, an associate degree or higher, or a passing score on an approved academic assessment (such as ParaPro, ParaPathways, or The Master Teacher), or fulfillment of competencies listed in the MDE approved competency grid
  • PCA certificate or willingness to obtain one (free and completed in under an hour)
  • At least one year of experience working professionally with school-aged children
  • Preference given to candidates with two or more years of experience as a school-based paraprofessional

Key Responsibilities:

  • Step in as a substitute paraprofessional/Educational Assistant during scheduled staff absences
  • Support teachers, staff, and students by assisting in classroom management, instructional activities, and student supervision
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for a diverse range of learners, including those with special needs
  • Collaborate with educators to ensure continuity and high-quality learning experiences
  • Maintain a professional, proactive, and adaptable presence in a busy school setting
