Medical Billing Collections Specialist
Pay: $25-$26/hour
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 Months)
Schedule: Hybrid (Remote 4 days/week after initial training)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7AM-4PM

Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned insurance payer accounts and follow up on outstanding claims
- Investigate denied, underpaid, and rejected claims to determine root causes and next steps
- Correct billing discrepancies and resubmit claims for payment
- Prepare and submit appeals for denied claims
- Monitor aging reports and work outstanding account balances
- Maintain productivity and quality standards while ensuring timely claim resolution
- Document account activity and updates accurately within billing systems
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve reimbursement issues and improve collections outcomes
- Prior experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or insurance collections
- Strong understanding of claim denial management and appeals processes
- Experience working with Medicaid claims preferred
- Knowledge of payer guidelines, reimbursement practices, and revenue cycle processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to meet productivity goals in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with medical billing systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Focus primarily on Medicaid-related accounts
- Work approximately 80 transactions per day
- Hybrid schedule: Remote four days per week and onsite every Wednesday
- Contract position with the opportunity to convert to a permanent role within 6 months based on performance
- Ongoing monthly performance reviews throughout the assignment
