Occupational Therapist School Setting in Waukegan, IL

Make a meaningful impact on the development of students in grades 3-5 by providing essential occupational therapy services in an engaging school environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced school-based OT who is passionate about supporting intermediate learners with fine motor and sensory needs.

In this role, you'll primarily offer consultation and some direct interventions for a manageable caseload of approximately 25 students, all within one supportive building. With a flexible part-time schedule—choose 2 full days or divide your hours across 2-3 days each week—there’s a strong focus on collaboration and innovation to best meet student needs.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

• Current Occupational Therapist licensure and registration in Illinois
• Previous success in a school-based OT setting, specifically with children in grades 3-5
• Strong background in consultative services and direct interventions related to fine motor and sensory processing
• Respect for diverse learning profiles and ability to work effectively alongside multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide both consulting and direct OT support for students with fine motor and sensory concerns
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop appropriate strategies and accommodations
• Assess, plan, and document student progress and interventions
• Support inclusive learning environments within the intermediate school setting

Assignment Details:

• Schedule: 8:05 am to 2:45 pm, 2–3 days weekly (flexible structure to fit your needs)
• Term: September 8, 2026 – June 16, 2027
• All services delivered in one intermediate building for a focused, cohesive experience
• Pay: This role offers a competitive hourly rate of $90
