Gen Ed Teacher - Gurnee, Illinois

Bring your passion for music and education to young learners as a full-time Music Teacher for grades K-2. Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
• Current Illinois Professional Educator License with the appropriate music endorsement(s)
• Previous experience teaching music or working with K-2 students is highly valued
• Skilled in curriculum design, lesson planning, and instructional delivery
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and participate actively in school events

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging K-2 music classes that ignite curiosity and confidence in young learners
• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with state standards and curriculum guidelines
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom climate that encourages student participation and exploration of music concepts
• Assess and document student progress, adapting instruction as needed for various learning styles and abilities
• Collaborate with other educators to integrate music with other subject areas and school activities
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student achievement and program goals
• Participate in school meetings, performances, and professional development opportunities
