Job Description
Step into an engaging, full-time contract position as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist serving K5-3rd grade students. Located near Detroit, this onsite opportunity runs from August 25, 2026, to June 18, 2027, offering a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 3:25 pm. You’ll work within an elementary school setting, starting with a caseload of approximately 40–45 students, with possible growth as new evaluations are requested, but never exceeding 60.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid state licensure and certification for SLP services in school settings
- Previous experience in school environments preferred
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Comfortable with elementary-age students and working collaboratively in educational teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language services to students in accordance with IEP goals
- Consult with faculty and staff to recommend effective classroom interventions and accommodations
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing input to both staff and parents
- Complete initial evaluations and re-evaluations for students as needed
- Serve as a member of the MET team, contributing your expertise to student assessments
- Act as case manager for students on your caseload, ensuring compliance with all required documentation
- Maintain accurate service logs and records for each student
