Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Merkel, TX

Make a meaningful impact by supporting young learners as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Teacher in an engaging PreK setting. This full-time contract position offers you the chance to help children with hearing differences thrive in the classroom, starting this August.

You’ll provide specialized instruction and guidance, ensuring students receive the support and tools they need to succeed developmentally and academically.

Qualifications:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
• Experience or strong knowledge working with early childhood/preK children
• Familiarity with assistive technology, communication modalities, and language development strategies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Collaborative approach to working with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong organizational and communication abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored educational plans for Deaf/Hard of Hearing PreK students
• Support language, communication, and social-emotional growth in an inclusive classroom environment
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Consult and collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Participate in IEP meetings and help develop individualized goals
