ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated School-Based Physical Therapist for a full-time contract position in Winsted, Connecticut, for the 2026-2027 school year. This districtwide opportunity allows a Physical Therapist to provide services to students across K-12 grade levels while collaborating with educators, families, and related service professionals to support student mobility, independence, and participation in the school environment. The district is seeking an in-person candidate who is passionate about helping students reach their functional goals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide physical therapy evaluations, assessments, and direct therapy services for students across K-12 grade levels.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student needs and educational goals.
- Support students with mobility, positioning, balance, coordination, strength, and functional movement skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, families, and other related service providers.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goal development and progress monitoring.
- Maintain accurate documentation, therapy notes, and service records.
- Provide districtwide physical therapy services across assigned school locations.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut Physical Therapist license required.
- Appropriate school-based credentials required, if applicable.
- Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
- Licensing assistance available for qualified candidates.
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred.
- Experience supporting students across multiple grade levels is beneficial.
- Familiarity with IEP processes, educational collaboration, and school-based therapy services preferred.
Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent organization and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of pediatric physical therapy practices in an educational environment.
- Commitment to helping students achieve greater independence and participation at school.

Work Hours:
Monday – Friday, full-time schedule
32-37.5 hours per week
