Job Description
Inspire innovation and creativity as a Technology Teacher for 7th and 8th grades at a welcoming middle school near Zion, IL. This long-term, full-time contract runs from August 17 through May 27, 2027, and is a fantastic opportunity to engage young minds with hands-on technology education. You’ll support students as they navigate fundamental concepts and develop essential digital skills—all in a collaborative, onsite setting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements
- Experience designing and implementing engaging, standards-based curriculum
- Demonstrated success planning lessons for middle school students
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Adept at guiding students in technology use and fostering a positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction for 7th and 8th grade technology courses, tailoring lessons to grade-level standards and student abilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver creative, hands-on activities that support technology literacy and problem-solving
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote growth
- Collaborate closely with fellow teachers, staff, and administrators to align instructional strategies and meet school objectives
- Maintain classroom management to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive environment
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in educational technology
