Key Qualifications:

  • Proficient in American Sign Language with previous experience in educational environments
  • Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, or active RID certification
  • Holds valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification
  • Comfortable working directly with a young student, fostering an inclusive learning atmosphere
  • Strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and school staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 sign language interpreting for an elementary school student throughout the school day
  • Facilitate clear and accurate communication between student, peers, and teachers
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity to student needs
  • Adapt interpreting style and delivery to fit a variety of classroom activities and educational settings
  • Participate in meetings and relevant professional development as requested
