Key Qualifications:
- Valid licensure/certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- At least one year of previous experience working as a SLPA in a school environment
- Strong understanding of school-based therapy practices and IEP processes
- Ability to work effectively onsite, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor with students and staff
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- New graduates are not eligible for this role
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Support the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) by following outlined therapy goals and activities
- Accurately document student progress and prepare progress reports as required
- Participate in team meetings, collaborating with educators and related service providers
- Assist in maintaining therapy materials and a safe, inclusive learning environment for all students
- Communicate regularly with supervising SLP, ensuring compliance with district and state guidelines
