Job Description
Step into an impactful role supporting students’ communication and learning goals throughout the 2026–2027 school year. This contract opportunity is located near Nebo, NC and is ideal for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion for working in school settings. The assignment is full-time, from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027, following a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (37.5 hours per week).
You will manage a caseload of approximately 43 students, providing comprehensive speech and language services to help them achieve their academic potential. This position calls for a dynamic SLP who brings both skill and heart to their everyday practice.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Strong preference for those with active North Carolina SLP licensure
- Previous experience in school-based settings working with elementary-age children
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language services according to students’ IEPs
- Conduct assessments, interpret results, and provide recommendations
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and progress reports
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to support student success
- Offer training and resources for school staff on communication strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to planning and goal setting
