JOB DESCRIPTION
The Intermediate Emergency Medical Technician (I-EMT) assesses, plans, implements, and collaborates with other
providers to ensure excellence in patient and family care during pre-hospital emergency care and during
transportation to a medical facility. Works in conjunction with the EMS Medical Director.
Full-time I-EMTs are expected to work 40 regular hours per week, with a minimum of 12 volunteer paid hours per
week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs medical and trauma patient assessments, establishes care priorities, and renders necessary and
appropriate care within policy, protocol, and scope of practice.
Assesses, plans, implements, and collaborates with other providers to ensure excellence in patient and family
care during pre-hospital emergency care and during transportation to a medical facility.
Works in coordination with the EMS Director to complete EMS staff duties and assignments.
Accurately performs and completes patient assessments, establishes care priorities, and renders appropriate
care.
Accurately documents assessments and treatments of patients using the WATRS reporting system in
accordance with Wyoming State statutes.
Provides service excellence to all customers.
Operates vehicles in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and Town policies. Must meet the
requirements of and maintain a driving record that allows for coverage by the Towns vehicle insurance carrier.
Assures that ambulances and stations are maintained, clean, stocked, and ready for service at all times.
Performs routine and minor vehicle and station maintenance to ensure safe and proper function.
Contributes to the EMS department's operations through consistent involvement in duty shifts, special events,
and educational in-services.
Participates as preceptor of Junior and new personnel as needed.
Develops and maintains professional working relationships with inter- and intra-departmental personnel.
Participates in departmental training program to maintain skills, knowledge, and abilities required of their
scope of practice.
Be required to be in Wamsutter during shift

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High School graduate or equivalent.
Licensure
Wyoming Office of EMS-issued I-EMT license; National Registry preferred.
Certifications required
Maintains I-EMT license and knowledge of professional standards related to protocols, clinical practice, skill
proficiency, staffing, and continuing education.

Qualifications
Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
Competency with Microsoft products, WATRS, and other Windows and web-based applications
BENEFITS
Starting salary range: depending upon experience.
