Key Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom (PreK–12) supporting students with autism and behavioral needs
• Familiarity and comfort with intensive behavioral interventions, including de-escalation and safety protocols
• Ability to manage and respond to aggressive and self-injurious behaviors
• Willingness to provide hands-on support (toileting, feeding, transfers, etc.)
• Must meet (or be able to complete within 60 days) one of Pennsylvania’s state paraprofessional requirements: two years of post-secondary coursework (48 credits), an associate degree or higher, or successfully pass an approved assessment
• Must reside within 35 minutes of the site
• Full-time availability Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:00 PM; mandatory orientation week required
• Reliable transportation

Primary Duties:

• Assist students with daily activities and personal care needs
• Implement behavior plans and safety interventions as directed by the educational team
• Foster a constructive and respectful classroom atmosphere
• Support instructional goals and adapt materials under staff supervision
• Maintain documentation and communicate student progress to staff
