Job Description
Step into a rewarding, full-time contract position as a Music Teacher for kindergarten through second grade students. This onsite assignment runs from August 17 through May 27, 2027 and offers the chance to foster creativity, musical skill, and a love of learning in young students at the (West Elm) Pre K-2 campus near Lake Zurich, IL. Serve an integral role by bringing your expertise and enthusiasm to a vibrant school community.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with the appropriate music endorsement(s)
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and classroom instruction for early learners
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to engaging and hands-on teaching practices
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues to plan dynamic music instruction for K-2 students
Key responsibilities:
- Teach general music classes to students in grades K-2 in accordance with curriculum guidelines and student needs
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that foster appreciation and understanding of music
- Assess and support individual student progress, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning styles
- Collaborate with grade-level teachers and school staff to enhance interdisciplinary learning
- Maintain clear and positive communication with families and administration regarding student growth and classroom activities
- Participate in school events, performances, and parent-teacher conferences as needed
