Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year, combining both Special Education teaching and Behavior Intervention Specialist responsibilities. In this unique role, you will split your time between a high school setting during the mornings and elementary school in the afternoons, supporting both students and staff with specialized behavioral and instructional expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to high school students as a 0.5 FTE Special Education Teacher.
  • Serve as a Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) 0.5 FTE in an elementary setting, consulting with teachers and supporting the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans.
  • Provide guidance to staff on positive behavioral strategies, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring, complying with district and state guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching license at Tier 3 or Tier 4 (required).
  • Experience as a Special Education Teacher and/or Behavior Specialist in school settings is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies and the development of behavior plans.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across grade levels and with diverse teams.
  • Candidates must submit both a Minnesota teaching license and a current resume for consideration.

This contract position follows a standard Monday through Friday schedule, during daytime hours (approximately 7am-3pm), totaling 37.5 hours per week.
