Make a difference in the lives of students with hearing differences by stepping into a dynamic, full-time contract role supporting learners from August 3rd through May 21st. You’ll work onsite—or potentially virtually—fostering communication skills, academic growth, and a positive learning environment as a teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students.
What You’ll Bring:
- Valid Standard Professional Certificate
- Completed Deaf/Hard of Hearing (K-12) Endorsement
- IVP Fingerprint Card
- Experience supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners in educational settings
- Proficiency with American Sign Language and/or other alternative communication tools
- Ability to adjust teaching methods to diverse student needs and varying communication levels
- Collaborative spirit and a passion for inclusive education
Your Impact & Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and academic support to DHH students, tailoring strategies to individual needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with families and educational specialists
- Foster receptive and expressive language skills, utilizing a range of auditory, oral, and visual techniques
- Advocate for accessibility and support in all school environments
- Provide consultation and resources to staff to ensure the success of students with hearing differences
- Maintain thorough progress data and communicate regularly with families and team members
