Key Qualifications:
- Current Arizona Secondary Teaching Certificate
- Specialized K-12 certification (or endorsement) in Visually Impaired Special Education
- Valid IVP fingerprint clearance card (required prior to start)
- Experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in K-12 settings preferred
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Flexibility to support students across various school locations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and consultative services to students who are visually impaired, adapting lessons to individual needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to develop accessible materials, accommodations, and modifications
- Participate in IEP meetings and assist in developing and implementing individualized education plans
- Offer orientation and mobility strategies, as appropriate
- Travel to and support multiple campus locations, with potential consideration for virtual roles as needed
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports per district and legal requirements
