Embark on a rewarding journey by supporting students with diverse learning needs in a collaborative school environment. Two contracted Special Education Teachers are needed for the upcoming academic year at a middle school in the Ringgold, GA area. These full-time positions span from August 5th through May 21st, 2027, with paid new SPED training beginning July 29th and pre-planning from July 31st to August 4th.

Position #1 focuses on 6th grade, co-teaching Math and Science in an inclusion classroom. You’ll guide a dynamic group of approximately 10–12 students with a range of eligibilities, including Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, and EBD. Handling moderate behaviors and communicating with co-teachers and support staff will be vital. No toileting or diapering duties are required.

Position #2 involves co-teaching 7th and 8th grade ELA and Science, also in an inclusion setting. With a similar caseload and student profile, you’ll help create engaging and supportive learning experiences for students with special education eligibility. Consistent collaboration and classroom management are key, while supporting students to meet their educational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Active GaPSC SPED Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement is required
  • Experience with middle school students in co-taught or inclusion settings preferred
  • Ability to implement IEPs and individual behavior plans
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and student-centered instructional skills
  • Commitment to a full academic year contract (August–May, training begins late July)
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with general education teachers to differentiate instruction
  • Monitor progress, assess student needs, and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Effectively communicate with parents, counselors, and team members
  • Contribute to a welcoming learning environment for students transitioning to and through middle school
