Job Description
Make a meaningful impact by supporting young learners with special needs as an itinerant special education teacher in the Norristown, PA area. This contract position involves working with community preschools to deliver individualized educational services to approximately 30 children. Guidance and onboarding training will be provided to ensure your success in this dynamic and rewarding environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Current PK-4 and/or Special Education certification in Pennsylvania is required (emergency permits not accepted)
- Experience in early childhood education or special education settings is highly valued
- Ability to manage a caseload and schedule independently across multiple community preschool locations
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Passion for working with children of varying abilities and backgrounds
Role Details and Responsibilities:
- Serve as an itinerant teacher supporting students with special education needs across various community preschools
- Provide direct instruction, differentiated learning activities, and support tailored to each child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Collaborate with preschool staff, families, and district personnel to enhance student development and ensure compliant services
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and all required documentation
- Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM, totaling 35 hours per week
