Travel Hospital Pharmacist | El Paso, Texas

A dynamic opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist to support retail pharmacy operations within a grocery store setting. This travel contract position offers the chance to leverage your clinical expertise while working across two retail sites in Alamogordo, New Mexico, with a flexible schedule and competitive compensation.

Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks or longer; shorter contracts considered)

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Closed weekends at primary location (occasional weekend coverage may be required at secondary site)

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders in line with protocols
• Maintain and update patient medication profiles
• Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians and ensure daily activities meet standards
• Participate in medical emergency responses within the pharmacy team
• Conduct medication storage area inspections, removing outdated stock
• Orient and train new team members to maintain high-quality service
• Adhere to infection control standards in all pharmacy operations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active New Mexico Pharmacist License or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Minimum one year experience as a registered pharmacist, preferably in retail pharmacy
• APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or commitment to obtain within 30 days
• Ability to provide occasional weekend coverage and work across two retail locations
• Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing expertise
• Skilled in supervising pharmacy technicians with a flexible, adaptable approach
