Job Description
Make a difference in students’ lives by guiding their educational journeys as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive, collaborative school environment near Rillito, AZ. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work onsite with students of diverse abilities, fostering growth and inclusion for the 2026-2027 school year. Four unique roles are available, covering a variety of caseloads and programs dedicated to student success.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Arizona Department of Education Standard K-12 Teaching Certification (Special Education)
- Valid fingerprint clearance card is required for employment
- Prior classroom experience or training in special education settings highly valued
- Strong skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families
- Resourcefulness, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive educational practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction for students with specialized needs in one of the following: Middle School Resource, Middle School Behavior Program, K-8 Behavior Program, or Elementary Adaptive Program
- Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to maximize student success
- Foster a nurturing, structured, and positive classroom environment
- Utilize data and assessment tools to track progress, adjust plans, and advocate for students
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and new teacher orientation as scheduled
