Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary students as a paraprofessional supporting classroom learning for the 2026-2027 school year. A contract-based, full-time opportunity is available, working Monday through Friday for 35 hours a week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two unpaid 15-minute breaks, all in a welcoming elementary school environment in the North Chicago area.
Your responsibilities will include providing direct instructional support to teachers, assisting with classroom management, and delivering individualized attention to students, including one-on-one assistance where needed. You will play a hands-on role in supporting elementary-aged students, especially those with challenging behaviors, during learning sessions and various classroom activities. Additionally, you will help with toileting needs as required, ensuring a safe and caring classroom environment.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Active Illinois Paraprofessional certification required
- At least 2 years of experience in a classroom setting
- Experience working with elementary students with challenging behaviors strongly preferred
- Comfort and previous experience assisting with toileting is a plus
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic school environment and offer compassionate, reliable support
