Job Description
Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a dedicated 5th Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies educator in an intermediate school setting near Waukegan, IL. As a vital part of the academic community for the 2024-2025 school year, you'll empower students through engaging lesson plans and thoughtful instruction focused on both ELA and Social Studies content.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related discipline.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional delivery.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience in a general education setting; dual subject teaching experience in Social Studies and English for Grade 5 highly desired.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver dynamic and differentiated instruction in English Language Arts and Social Studies for 5th grade students.
- Develop creative, standards-based lesson plans tailored to a variety of learning needs.
- Evaluate student progress through assessments, projects, and ongoing feedback.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and engagement.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and administrators to promote student success.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ academic performance and participate in parent-teacher conferences as needed.
- Remain onsite full time, with no virtual or hybrid options.
