ELA Teacher in Waukegan, IL

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related discipline.
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional delivery.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience in a general education setting; dual subject teaching experience in Social Studies and English for Grade 5 highly desired.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver dynamic and differentiated instruction in English Language Arts and Social Studies for 5th grade students.
• Develop creative, standards-based lesson plans tailored to a variety of learning needs.
• Evaluate student progress through assessments, projects, and ongoing feedback.
• Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and engagement.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and administrators to promote student success.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ academic performance and participate in parent-teacher conferences as needed.
• Remain onsite full time, with no virtual or hybrid options.
