Director of Pharmacy in Natrona Heights, PA

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a hands-on Director of Pharmacy to lead a small, dedicated hospital pharmacy team in an acute care setting. This permanent, direct hire role requires a licensed pharmacist who thrives in a dynamic environment combining leadership, clinical, and operational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations as the working director and Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC)
• Lead and mentor a team including 1 full-time staff pharmacist, 1 full-time pharmacy technician, and 2 per diem pharmacists
• Manage administrative functions, clinical services, and operational workflow within the pharmacy department
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
• Support an upcoming transition to EPIC pharmacy systems from Med Host and paper processes
• Coordinate weekend coverage on a rotating basis, with compensatory weekday time off

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Pennsylvania Pharmacist License or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Proven acute care hospital pharmacy experience is required
• Pharmacy management or director-level experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable with a working director role, actively involved in daily pharmacy tasks and leadership duties
• Strong administrative, clinical, and operational skills
• Experience managing a small team with direct reports
• Retail-only pharmacy experience does not meet requirements for this role

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Weekend coverage required on rotation (about 4 hours flex time)
