A pharmacist position is available for an evening shift in an acute care hospital pharmacy setting located in Springfield, MO. This 13-week contract role offers a unique opportunity to support central pharmacy operations with a focus on product verification and medication safety within a busy healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will be licensed in Missouri and proficient with EPIC electronic medical records.

Location:
Springfield, MO – Acute Care Pharmacy, Central Pharmacy Department

Schedule:

  • Evenings, 2:30 PM to 12:30 AM
  • 7 days on / 7 days off (Thursday through Wednesday rotation)
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Verify and check medications, including kits, crash carts, prepackaged items, IVs, creams, and insulin pens using EPIC dispense prep
  • Coordinate workflow for pharmacy technicians in the central pharmacy area without direct supervisory responsibilities
  • Ensure code carts are accurately restocked and maintained
  • Oversee day-to-day central pharmacy operations, enabling order-review pharmacists to focus on clinical responsibilities
  • Undergo 2-3 weeks of training tailored to product verification and operational procedures

Qualifications:

  • Active Missouri Pharmacist Licensure required
  • Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience; new graduates with relevant skills are encouraged to apply
  • Experience working with EPIC EMR preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage workflow independently

Work Environment:

  • Collaborates with a team comprising 2 evening shift pharmacists and 5-6 technicians
  • Works primarily within the central pharmacy distributing medication and ensuring compliance with policies
