This opportunity calls for a licensed Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmacy services in a long-term care setting. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to supervise pharmacy staff effectively.

Contract Details:
- 13-week contract to hire
- Start: ASAP
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately while ensuring compliance with legal requirements
- Monitor patient medication adherence and identify over-usage patterns
- Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files
- Counsel patients on medication use, possible side effects, and answer medication-related questions
- Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications including dosage, storage, side effects, and interactions
- Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on the use and care of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
- Compound medications for both external and internal use following sterile preparation procedures
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, and interns to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
- Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to maintain appropriate stock levels
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare practitioners to identify and resolve drug-related problems
Qualifications:
- Current NC pharmacist license in-hand
- Experience in retail pharmacy is acceptable; comprehensive training will be provided
- Familiarity with PV1 and PV2 duties preferred
