School Occupational Therapist | Lakewood, Ohio

Bring your passion for student success to the Lorain, OH area as a School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) on a flexible, part-time contract basis. You’ll work school hours, Monday through Friday, as part of a collaborative educational team. Your expertise will help students overcome diverse developmental, physical, sensory, and cognitive challenges, enhancing their engagement and performance throughout the upcoming school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations for students referred for occupational therapy services
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and measurable IEP goals
• Deliver direct and consultative OT services in line with students’ IEPs
• Collaborate routinely with teachers, special educators, administrators, related service providers, and families
• Recommend appropriate classroom accommodations, environmental modifications, and adaptive equipment
• Maintain meticulous documentation, progress reports, and support Medicaid billing where applicable
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team efforts
• Monitor student progress, making timely adjustments to intervention strategies
• Educate staff and families on strategies to further support student success

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
• Active Ohio OT license and NBCOT certification
• Experience in schools or pediatric settings preferred, but not required
• Exceptional communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work autonomously and cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team
