Job Description
Step into an impactful speech-language pathology opportunity serving a diverse group of students across several elementary, middle, and private school settings near South Bend, IN. This contract position will immerse you in an engaging educational environment with settings ranging from a single 5th–8th grade building to multiple preschool through 8th grade private schools. You’ll have the autonomy to tailor your support based on the needs of each site, shaping positive learning experiences for students.
Ideal candidates hold the CCC-SLP credential with expertise in school-based speech-language services. Full-time hours (37.5 per week) are offered on a standard school-year calendar, from August 18 through June 7. Caseloads vary, typically 40–45 for virtual service delivery or 65–70 for in-person roles, with a primary focus on traditional speech/language interventions—most sites have minimal or no AAC device utilization.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and active CCC-SLP (for SLPs)
- School-based experience supporting K–8 populations strongly preferred
- Ability to adapt therapy for virtual or onsite delivery
- Openness to managing moderate caseloads across multiple school sites
- Bilingual skills welcomed, but not required
- Willingness to consider SLPA applicants for in-person roles
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy in compliance with students’ educational plans
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to foster communication growth
- Complete thorough documentation, IEP development, and progress reporting
- Travel between local school buildings (if in-person)
- Serve as an advocate for students’ communication and academic success
