Job Description
Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting middle school students as a highly qualified paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 academic year! This position covers multiple school sites, so you’ll have the chance to select your preferred school—an important detail to share when applying. Starting August 31, 2026, and lasting through November 29, 2026 (with a strong possibility for direct hire afterward), this role offers a vibrant and supportive environment working 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Key qualifications:
- Must be "Highly Qualified" as a paraprofessional in Minnesota by meeting one of these requirements before presentation:
• Passing score on the MN Para Educator Exam
• Minimum of 60 college credits (official transcripts required) - Experience working with middle school populations in an educational or support staff capacity
- Willingness to assist with all student needs, including toileting support as needed
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
- Professional, reliable, and adaptable to the dynamic school setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide academic and behavioral support to students in a middle school setting
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff, ensuring students’ IEP goals are met
- Assist with classroom management, small group instruction, and individualized learning
- Support students’ daily living needs, which may include toileting and personal care
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all students
