Job Description
Make an impact in the lives of K-7th grade students as a Special Education Resource Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, contract position offers an exciting opportunity to support an inclusive learning environment and deliver personalized instructional strategies to students in a vibrant community.
You will serve in an in-person capacity from August 2026 to June 2027, working approximately 35-37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The role includes three distinct caseloads: one Kindergarten Resource, one Grade 1-2 Resource, and one 7th Grade Resource/Case Manager. As a dedicated educator, you'll help students achieve success and growth, collaborating closely with fellow professionals and families.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for Connecticut (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience or strong interest in working with K-7th grade students with diverse needs
- Ability to employ a wide range of instructional approaches and differentiated strategies
- Skilled in case management, progress monitoring, and developing IEPs
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with staff and parents
- Committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Must be able to teach on-site; virtual-only applicants will not be considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver resource and support services to assigned grade-level caseload
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and related service providers
- Engage in ongoing parent communication and support

- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
