Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Elkin, North Carolina

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid NC DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching license required
• Experience as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing preferred
• Strong skills in individualized instruction strategies and student advocacy
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, adapting lesson plans to diverse learning styles
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create accessible classroom experiences
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student progress and make data-driven instructional decisions
• Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding best practices and accommodations
• Ensure compliance with individualized education plans (IEPs) and participate in IEP meetings
• Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with district policies

Job Details:

• Contract position for the 2026–2027 school year
• 2 days per week; 16 hours per week schedule
• Start date: August 17, 2026, End date: June 4, 2027
