OB/GYN Hospitalist Part Time Position

Exciting Opportunity for an Obstetrician

Our organization is a multi-specialty group practice with over 650 providers, currently seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Obstetrician to join a well-established OB hospitalist team of five physicians. This program, which has been operational since 2009, is the first of its kind in Idaho.

Schedule Options

• Full-time: 154 twelve-hour shifts annually (1.0 FTE)
• Part-time: 77 twelve-hour shifts annually (0.5 FTE)

No on-call duties are required.

Role Overview

The OB Hospitalist physicians play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety in Labor and Delivery. They collaborate with Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists, OB/GYN doctors, Family Medicine practitioners, and Certified Nurse Midwives to provide comprehensive 24/7 care at our Family Maternity Center, which sees over 1,400 deliveries each year and maintains a low cesarean rate of 21% for first-time mothers.

Support for Military Transition

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the antepartum service and act as MFM extenders
• Triage incoming pregnant patients
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including trauma
• Consult with Certified Nurse Midwives and Family Medicine physicians
• Assist in surgeries and provide backup for OB/GYN physicians
• Manage labor and deliveries for patients without an assigned provider or when their providers are unavailable

No office, GYN, or on-call responsibilities are included!

About Our Maternity Services

Our facility serves as a regional referral center, featuring:

• Two Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists
• 24-hour in-house anesthesia coverage
• A Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• On-site gynecologic oncology, interventional radiology, pediatric surgery, and pediatric gastroenterology
• The region's only ACS verified Level II Trauma Center

Additionally, our OB hospitalists have the privilege of caring for women involved in the Refugee Resettlement program.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine Support

Our Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists are dedicated to providing comprehensive obstetric care, ensuring that patients and their families receive high-quality perinatal services during complicated pregnancies. They work closely with primary obstetricians, hospitalists, and neonatologists to deliver optimal care. Our Maternal-Fetal Medicine department has received special recognition from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) for its commitment to excellence in diagnostic ultrasound services.

NICU Services

The Level III NICU offers the highest standard of care for infants, providing 24-hour specialty services. This facility allows families from Boise and surrounding areas in Idaho and eastern Oregon to access expert treatment close to home. Our NICU team collaborates with parents to achieve outcomes that surpass national benchmarks, with significantly lower length-of-stay and complication rates compared to national averages.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
• Completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency
• Certification by the ABOG or the ability to obtain it within three years of employment
• Idaho medical licensure and privileges at our facility
