An exciting opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist seeking a contract position in a supportive educational setting starting early September and potentially lasting through the entire school year. This is a full-time assignment to cover a maternity leave, offering a chance to make a significant impact on students’ growth and success. You'll collaborate closely with a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and benefit from a strong network of professionals dedicated to student achievement.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid licensure and credentials to practice as an Occupational Therapist
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including COTAs, teachers, and administration
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills, especially with managing caseloads
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving student and program needs
  • Compassion and a commitment to promoting functional independence among students

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions to help students achieve educational goals
  • Assess and monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with the COTA to delegate tasks and provide guidance
  • Maintain accurate, thorough records of services and student outcomes
  • Consult with teachers and families to support carryover of strategies in the classroom and at home
  • Attend or participate in team meetings and provide input on student plans
