A travel pharmacist opportunity is available for a night shift role at a children’s hospital in North Houston, TX. This six-month assignment requires a dedicated professional with pediatric inpatient pharmacy experience and the ability to support critical medication use during overnight hours. The schedule consists of 7 days on, followed by 7 days off, working night shifts from 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Later in the assignment, there may be an opportunity to transition to a day shift position to cover a pharmacist on FMLA through January 13, 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medications accurately for pediatric inpatient populations
  • Utilize EPIC electronic health record and Pyxis automated dispensing systems proficiently
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize pediatric pharmacotherapy
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols during dispensing and verification
  • Provide expert clinical pharmacy support during night shifts

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Valid Texas pharmacist license required
  • Strong experience in inpatient pharmacy settings, preferably in pediatrics
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
  • Familiarity with Pyxis automated medication dispensing system
  • Ability to work independently during overnight hours in a hospital environment
