Job Description
Step into a meaningful contract role supporting high school students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a dynamic academic environment near Bolingbrook, IL. This rewarding opportunity focuses on working 2-3 days a week throughout the 2026-2027 school year, allowing for a balanced schedule and deep engagement with each student’s unique needs.
As the dedicated SLP for 9th-12th graders, you will manage a caseload of approximately 45 students, each with 504 plans or Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Your expertise will directly impact student communication, academic access, and confidence, fostering positive growth during these crucial years.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Illinois SLP license and Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with SLP endorsement
- Prior experience working in a school setting, ideally with high school students
- Familiarity with 504 plans, IEP processes, and data-driven therapy approaches
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively manage a diverse caseload and communicate goals to staff and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to determine students’ speech and language needs
- Develop, implement, and regularly update IEPs and 504-related goals
- Provide individualized and group therapy, adapting strategies as needed
- Collaborate closely with educators, counselors, and families to support student progress
- Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development
