Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the first six weeks of the upcoming school year. This full-time contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with a dedicated educational team near the scenic Southeast Texas Coast. You’ll play a crucial role in helping students by temporarily assisting the district while their new hires complete required observation hours for licensure. Up to four SLPAs are needed to provide this essential support.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid, active Texas SLPA license (required)
- Strong understanding of school-based speech-language therapy practices
- Experience working with school-aged children, or a passion for supporting diverse learners
- Ability to travel between assigned schools (assignments to be determined)
- Commitment to timely completion of Texas fingerprinting requirements if not previously completed
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude
In this role, you'll:
- Deliver therapeutic interventions for students under the supervision of licensed SLPs
- Support a caseload to be finalized following further district meetings
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to promote student success
- Provide documentation and progress updates in accordance with district policies
- Adapt quickly within an evolving educational environment
This contract runs from August 10, 2026, through September 25, 2026, with a 35-hour full-week schedule.
