This assignment runs from August 12 to October 13 and focuses on providing Speech-Language Pathology services to students with assistive technology requirements and higher needs. Key Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Valid Illinois state SLP licensure (or ability to obtain)
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; strong Clinical Fellowship candidates (CFY) are also encouraged to apply
  • Previous experience with high school-aged students and a low incidence population is strongly desired
  • Familiarity with assistive technology tools and interventions within a school setting
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 30 high school students with higher needs
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans focused on communication and assistive technology
  • Participate in IEP meetings, student assessments, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Provide direct interventions, progress monitoring, and data collection
  • Consult and support staff and families on strategies to enhance students’ communication abilities
  • Maintain accurate, timely records and compliance with all regulations
