Make a meaningful impact supporting K-12 students as an Assistive Technology Specialist in an engaging contract role beginning August 2026. In this position, you’ll play a key role in fostering student success by ensuring curriculum accessibility and promoting independence, all while collaborating with a supportive interdisciplinary team. This onsite role offers the opportunity to work directly with students and staff, sharing your expertise to create a more inclusive learning environment.

Required Experience and Qualities

  • Active, valid state and educational licensure for Assistive Technology
  • Background in evaluating, recommending, and implementing assistive technology (AT) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
  • Demonstrated skill preparing and monitoring individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Experience conducting functional assistive tech evaluations for students with varying needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and general education staff
  • Ability to provide consultation on curriculum modifications and access strategies
  • Comfortable traveling between multiple school sites as part of an itinerant support team

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive AT and AAC evaluations, including detailed documentation and recommendations for K-12 students
  • Consult with teams on classroom accessibility and curriculum modifications tailored to individualized learning
  • Develop and update IEPs, ensuring alignment with student goals and ongoing progress monitoring
  • Serve as a resource on AT best practices for staff and education partners
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute expert input for due process management
