Teacher for the Visually Impaired - Apopka, Florida

Step into a rewarding role supporting K-12 students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) with OMS certification. This full-time, contract position is ideal for travelers and professionals passionate about impacting the lives of students with visual impairments. With an on-site presence based out of the district main office, you'll visit a range of campuses across the area, providing invaluable direct and indirect services.

You’ll collaborate closely with district leadership to design a flexible schedule that meets both your needs and those of your students—perfect for someone seeking balance and variety in their workday. With a manageable itinerant caseload of 15–20 students and some consultative services being monthly, you'll have the opportunity to focus on meaningful student connections while utilizing testing and screening expertise.

Qualifications:

• Valid Professional Florida TVI License
• OMS Certification (required)
• Background in student testing and screenings
• Experience in school-based settings strongly preferred, but not required
• Ability to work comfortably across multiple school sites with a K-12 caseload

Key Responsibilities:

• Screen, evaluate, and provide specialized instruction for students with visual impairments
• Deliver both direct teaching and indirect consultative services across 13 schools (2–3 per day)
• Design and implement individualized strategies to foster student independence and success
• Collaborate with educators, families, and district staff to drive best outcomes for each student
• Maintain accurate records and participate in required district onboarding and compliance
