Join a dynamic healthcare environment as a Pharmacist specializing in Long Term Care pharmacy services. This contract opportunity, located in Washington, NC, offers a 13-week assignment with potential for conversion to permanent employment. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, with rotating weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
  • Ensure medication supply complies with legal requirements and that prescriptions are appropriate.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Provide expert counsel to patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and general pharmaceutical inquiries.
  • Deliver patient services including smoking cessation guidance, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for internal and external use following strict sterile preparation protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy personnel, including technicians and clerks, to maintain smooth operations.
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies effectively.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NC pharmacist license must be held and current.
  • Candidates with retail pharmacy background are welcome; training is provided.
  • Experience or willingness to perform PV1 and PV2 pharmacy duties is essential.
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills.
