Job Opportunity: Hospitalist

Our organization is a physician-led multispecialty group with over 650 providers, currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Hospitalist to join our expanding team in Boise, Idaho. You will collaborate with 32 physicians and 12 advanced practice providers in delivering high-acuity medical services at a 381-bed regional medical facility.

Position Details

• Employment Type: Full-time, requiring 152 night shifts annually.
• Teaching Opportunities: Hospitalists will engage in the education of residents.

Patient Care Responsibilities

The typical patient demographic consists of 40% adults and 60% geriatric individuals. Hospitalists will manage cases involving:

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Pneumonia
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
• Pancreatitis
• Stroke
• Neurological conditions
• Geriatric fractures
• Other general medical issues

On average, hospitalists will conduct 14-18 patient encounters daily, while nocturnists typically handle 6-8 admissions each night.

Our facility is also the only ACS verified Level II Trauma Center in the area. Hospitalists serve as the primary admitting service for most primary care providers within our network.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, with Hospitalist training.
• Desire to cultivate a practice within a growing multispecialty medical group.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
• Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency program; Family Medicine residency with Hospitalist training will also be considered.
• Board certification through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM), or the ability to obtain certification within three years of employment.
• Must secure Idaho medical licensure for comprehensive medical practice, including valid controlled substance registration with the Idaho Boards of Pharmacy and DEA.
• Ability to obtain privileges at the regional medical center.
